RLS Land Solutions runs excavation and dirt work in Boling, Texas. We come down FM 442 out of Needville with large excavators and a fleet of tandem dump trucks. Our smallest excavator weighs about 50,000 pounds. That size matters on Wharton County ground, where a job gets measured in acres and hundreds of truckloads. We clear brush and trees, dig ponds and lakes, build pads, cut ranch roads and haul dirt. We also sell select fill, fill dirt and sand out of two pits we own in southeast Fort Bend County. Boling sits nine miles southeast of Wharton, on the west bank of Caney Creek. FM 442 and FM 1301 cross in the middle of town. FM 442 runs northeast to Highway 36 near Needville, which is where our equipment comes from. Our pits sit on the Fort Bend side of that road, so loaded trucks stay on country blacktop. Most of our work here is farm and ranch ground, or building sites on acreage. Our minimum project is about $10,000. We are built for volume and we run around the clock when a job calls for it.

This is coastal prairie country. The open ground runs to grass, with mesquite and oak scattered through it. Along Caney Creek and the San Bernard River bottom, the brush gets thick and the trees get big. Old fence lines and idle pasture fill in fast down here. We clear that with large excavators and dozers. Trees and brush get pushed out or dug out, root ball and all, then loaded and hauled off. We own a green waste dump site, so the debris leaves the property and stays gone. On bigger tracts we clear in blocks, so you can start using the finished part while we keep working.
Ponds are steady work out here. Holding water is an old habit in this country. The San Bernard got dammed near the county line in 1929 to form New Gulf Reservoir. Cattle still need water, and a dug pond holds better than a low spot that dries up in August. The soils in this county run to loam, sand and coastal clay. Clay is what makes a pond hold, so we check what sits under the grass before we start digging. We build stock tanks for pasture and larger lakes for ranches that want real water. Spoil dirt gets used on site where it helps, like a pad or a rise along the bank.
Flat ground looks easy until it rains. Coastal prairie holds water, so a pad has to sit high enough and shed the right direction. We build house pads, shop pads and commercial pad sites with select fill, compacted in lifts. We grade the land around them so runoff has somewhere to go. Same idea on cropland and pasture. Land leveling and drainage cuts move water off the low spots that go soft every spring. We have done this work on solar sites covering thousands of acres. We also did the dirt work on a data center project near Blessing. A big pad near Boling is normal work for us.
We own two sand and dirt pits in southeast Fort Bend County. That means the select fill, fill dirt and sand come straight from us. You get one price on material and trucking, and we control when the loads show up. Our tandem dump trucks run in numbers, so a job that needs 300 loads gets 300 loads. Ranch roads are part of the same work. We build the road bed up, crown it, and cap it with road base. It holds up after a wet week. Field entrances and pasture crossings get the same treatment.
